Do you love animals, science and fieldwork? Do you want to contribute to animal health, livestock farming and food security in our region and across our continent? ESMV at the University of Ngaoundéré is opening its doors for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The first-year entrance examination is open for two programmes: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production Engineer. Here is everything you need to know to prepare your application with confidence.

- Animal Production Engineers examination: Friday, 09 October 2026
- Doctors of Veterinary Medicine examination: Saturday, 10 October 2026
The deadline is close. We recommend putting your file together right away rather than waiting until the last days.
Who can apply?
Admission by competitive examination
The examination is open to Cameroonian and CEMAC-zone candidates of both sexes, aged 26 or under on 31 December 2026. You must hold one of the following:
- the Baccalauréat, series C or D;
- or the GCE Advanced Level with at least three science subjects, including Biology;
- or any other equivalent qualification recognised by MINESUP.
Admission by file review
This route is open to Cameroonian and foreign candidates, subject to available places (maximum 10 places per cycle). Candidates must hold a scholarship from their government or an international organisation.
How to apply
- Fill in the individual application form online at https://concours.esmv.univndere.cm, then download it. It must carry a 1,500 FCFA revenue stamp.
- Pay the examination fee of 20,000 FCFA (see payment details below).
- Complete your online registration. Please note: this step must be done after the application fee has been paid.
- Submit your complete file at one of the drop-off points listed below.
Payment details
The examination fee of 20,000 FCFA can be paid:
- at CCA-Bank, Ngaoundéré Branch, account no. 10039-10013-02373359402-44;
- or through Express Exchange, Express Union or Emy Money, in favour of ESMV (University of Ngaoundéré).
Keep your receipt safe: it is part of your file.
Application file
Your file must include the following documents:
- the individual application form, completed and downloaded from the examination website, stamped at 1,500 FCFA;
- a certified true copy of the Baccalauréat, the GCE Advanced Level or any other equivalent qualification (science series), or a certified true copy of the certificate of success for one of these qualifications;
- certified true copies of the Baccalauréat and Probatoire transcripts, or a certified true copy of the GCE Advanced Level and GCE Ordinary Level results;
- a certified true copy of your birth certificate, issued within the last three months;
- four recent passport-size photos (4x4), with your first and last names written on the back;
- a medical certificate issued by a Public Health doctor, certifying that you are fit for fieldwork and sports activities;
- the receipt for the 20,000 FCFA examination fee;
- an A4 envelope, stamped at the standard postal rate, showing the full address of the candidate or of their parents.
Where to submit your file
Several drop-off points are available to make the process easier:
- the ESMV registrar's office, at the University of Ngaoundéré;
- the regional delegations of secondary education;
- the University of Ngaoundéré annex in Yaoundé (Nkolbisson, IRAD, Biotechnology Centre);
- the University of Dschang annex in Maroua;
- FASA, University of Dschang.
The examination papers
The examination consists of three written papers of two hours each:

Biology-Chemistry carries the most weight in your final score, so keep that in mind as you prepare.
Where to sit the examination
The papers are held in five examination centres: Ngaoundéré, Dschang, Maroua, Yaoundé and Buea. You can therefore sit the examination in the city closest to you.
