23rd edition of the University Games THE GOVERNOR CALLS FOR THE INVOLVEMENT OF ALL STAKEHOLDERS

It was in the Records Hall of the Adamaoua Regional Council that the Governor of the said region, KILDADI TAGUIÉKÉ BOUKAR, chaired the preparatory meeting on 13 January 2023 for the 23rd edition of the University Games, which The University of Ngaoundéré will organise from 29 April to 6 May 2023. The agenda focused mainly on the presentation of the general context for organising this large-scale sporting event, the reading establishing the Local Organising Committee, discussions and recommendations. Speaking to give an update, Madam Rector of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. UPHIE CHINJE Florence, welcomed the strengths of the Institution under her charge:  » The University of Ngaoundéré is the only University where all sports infrastructure is located on the same site. The National Federation of University Sports (FENASU) expressed its satisfaction during its last inspection visit to The University of Ngaoundéré « , she said with delight. The size of the delegations expected at The University of Ngaoundéré is estimated at 3,667 people, while the number of athletes is put at 3,075 for all the State Universities and private Institutes expected to take part in the University Games. Officials are no exception: 457 are expected. To ensure the smooth running of the ceremony, 650 volunteers will be mobilised. Media coverage, however, will be handled by the press. « We are ready to rise to the challenge set before us « , said the Governor of the Adamaoua region with satisfaction, before setting a date of 21 January 2023 for the next meeting.
