Two weeks before the opening ceremony of the 23rd edition of the University Games, which The University of Ngaoundéré will host, the governor of the Adamaoua region says he is confident about the organisation of the said Games:  » The trend is good », said the chairman of the local organising committee of the University Games, KILDADI TAGUIÉKÉ BOUKAR, with satisfaction.

It was in the conference room of the governor’s offices that the chairmen of the 10 commissions presented their action plans for the success of the great sporting and cultural gathering.

The meeting to assess the preparations for the University Games, held on 12 April 2023, made it possible to dispel doubts about the holding of the University Games, which will take place from 29 April to 06 May 2023 at The University of Ngaoundéré. To date, remarkable efforts have been made to welcome the various delegations that will take part in the Games.

According to Madam Rector of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. UPHIE CHINJE Florence, the Institution under her charge is sparing no effort to receive the guests:  » The sports infrastructure is almost ready. Only a few finishing touches remain. We have signed contracts with 16 hotels with a total capacity of 500 rooms and suites.

The University’s lecture rooms will be used to accommodate the athletes as usual. We have contacted catering services for catering. The advertisers Orange, MTN, Blue, etc. are supporting us… » affirmed Professor UPHIE CHINJE Florence. She gave a scoop in terms of innovation:  » This is the first time that beach volleyball will be tried out at the University Games. There will also be a fantasia carnival of the lamidat of Ngaoundéré  », announced Madam Rector.
