23rd edition of the University Games OVER CFAF 600,000,000 REPRESENTING THE ESTIMATED BUDGET

It was in the Conference Hall of the offices of the Governor of the Adamaoua region that the chairpersons of the 10 commissions representing the Local Organising Committee of the University Games unveiled, on 21 February 2023, their statement of requirements in order to properly conduct the organisation of the 23rd edition of the said Games. The projected cost of the budget envelope is estimated at CFAF 676,847,150. According to Madam Rector of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. UPHIE CHINJE Florence, this is an estimated budget which may be amended, given the needs and cash-flow pressures. Furthermore, the head of the university Institution presented the latest progress in the preparations for this inter-university event. Thanks to a video projection, the assembly was able to fully appreciate the reception infrastructure, the sports infrastructure and the Games village, to name but a few. Governor KILDADI TAGUIÉKÉ BOUKAR did not hold back his emotion:  » We have held our own so far… We are on the right track  » he said with delight, before offering advice to the participants:  » Keep the same atmosphere, the same momentum…Give the Games visibility so that our objective is achieved. This concerns the image of the region, of the University. We must rise to this challenge  ». From 29 April to 6 May 2023, The University of Ngaoundéré will welcome 22 State Universities and Private Institutions of Higher Education (IPES), namely 11 State Universities and 11 IPES. The size of the delegations expected at The University of Ngaoundéré is estimated at 4,200 participants.
