Creation of the Centre for Transformative Education (CET) at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, The University of Ngaoundéré

Education is the key to shaping the future, and today we are delighted to announce an important step in the field of transformative education. The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, signed Order No. 23/00815/MINESUP of 14 September 2023, thereby creating the Centre for Transformative Education (CET) within the Faculty of Educational Sciences of The University of Ngaoundéré.

A New and Promising Initiative:

The CET is much more than a simple addition to our institution. It embodies The University of Ngaoundéré’s commitment to excellence in the field of transformative education. This research and training centre is dedicated to the study and promotion of transformative education, from training of trainers to university pedagogy and the competency-based approach.

Missions of the CET:

In the field of research, the CET is committed to:

• Promoting fundamental and applied research in the aforementioned fields.
• Supervising and supporting individual and collective research.
• Organising scientific events and publishing research work.
• Promoting and protecting research results.
• Developing partnerships with national and international research organisations.

With regard to training, the CET’s mission is to:

• Participate in the training of Master’s and Doctoral students in educational sciences.
• Organise annual training sessions in the fields of transformative education.
• Organise thematic training seminars in these same fields.

The Structure of the CET:

The CET is composed of the following bodies:

• A Scientific Committee which supervises research and training activities.
• A Directorate responsible for coordinating and supervising the CET’s activities.
• Research Units specialising in the fields of transformative education.
