Inauguration of the Centre for Transformative Education at The University of Ngaoundéré

On 11 March 2024, an important step was taken at The University of Ngaoundéré with the official inauguration of the Centre for Transformative Education. This ceremony, chaired by the Rector of The University, Prof. Mamoudou Abdoulmoumini, and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Cameroon, His Excellency Christopher John Lamora, marks the beginning of a new era in the field of training.

According to Professor Mamoudou Abdoulmoumini, this Centre aims to promote the professionalisation and digitalisation of teaching, in line with the government’s vision. This is a significant step towards improving the transmission of knowledge to learners, by developing new pedagogical theories and techniques.

This Centre will not be limited to the training of students, but is also intended for trainers, particularly teachers. Its mission will be to cover various fields, from basic education to secondary education, including non-conventional training.

Responsibility for running this Centre falls to the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Prof. Menyé Nga Germain Fabrice, who will have to coordinate the activities and ensure their success.

The Ambassador of the United States of America to Cameroon welcomed this innovative initiative and expressed his gratitude to the university community for its strong mobilisation during this historic ceremony.

As a sign of generosity and additional support, the Ambassador donated 10 new laptops, thereby strengthening the resources available. In addition, he offered a collection of books, thus enriching the teaching materials available to students and teachers.

This inauguration opens up new prospects in the field of education at The University of Ngaoundéré, offering students and teachers unique opportunities to develop their skills and contribute to the progress of education in Cameroon.
