2 min read

It was in Lecture Hall 750, the legendary venue for major academic, administrative and cultural events, that the university community turned out in large numbers, on 02 February 2023, to present new year greetings to Madam Rector of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. UPHIE CHINJE Florence. Speaking on behalf of the university community, the Secretary General of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. VOUDWÉ BAKRÉO, gave an overall satisfactory retrospective assessment of the year 2022, which has just ended.

ON THE ACADEMIC FRONT

The University of Ngaoundéré distinguished itself during the various sessions of the Advisory Committee for University Institutions (CCIU), which enabled several members of staff to change grade. Thus, it recorded

  • 26 Senior Lecturers,
  • 23 Associate Professors
  • 7 Professors.

ON THE COOPERATION FRONT

In 2022, the University launched the University of Ngaoundéré Industrial Pole (UNIPOLE) project, authorised by the Board of Directors in 2020. This is a model of an entrepreneurial university, supporting development activities involving the industrial and commercial transfer of research results. This project has received approval from several ministries and bodies. Thus, 21 TDRs were validated.

ON THE RESEARCH FRONT

The University of Ngaoundéré confirmed its reputation as a centre of excellence thanks to the achievements of its researchers. Thus, through the Excellence in the Production of Technological Innovations in Agro-industry project (PEPITA-UN), implemented at ENSAI, this initiative has nurtured 25 innovation projects through a process on track to produce 12 patents.

ON THE INFRASTRUCTURE FRONT

The University completed a solar energy electrification project involving 400 lamps. It has also built a multi-purpose cold room with a capacity of 15 tonnes, and a modern gymnasium for the 23rd edition of the University Games, which will take place from 29 April to 06 May 2023.

According to the Secretary General of The University of Ngaoundéré, the participatory dynamic was, generally speaking, driven by Madam Rector, Prof. UPHIE CHINJE Florence. It was on this note of satisfaction that the university community of Ngaoundéré presented its 2023 new year greetings to Madam Rector, Prof. UPHIE CHINJE Florence, after a truce of nearly two years imposed by the covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
