As part of establishing contact with the faculty institutions and the professional training grandes écoles, the head of the University Institution of Ngaoundéré, Prof. MAMOUDOU ABDOULMOUMINI, travelled to Meiganga accompanied by his collaborators. The visit was organised in three phases.

Firstly, the visit to the DJALO construction site. He noted that the building intended to house the School of Geology and Mining Exploitation (EGEM) is nearing completion. Secondly, Professor MAMOUDOU ABDOULMOUMINI paid a courtesy visit to the Senior Divisional Officer of Mbéré division and to the Lamido of Meiganga. These authorities asked him to convey the local population’s thanks to the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Jacques FAME NDONGO. Thirdly, there was an exchange between the Rector, the students, the support staff and the teaching staff. A string of grievances was raised, to the great satisfaction of the EGEM community.

Indeed, the head of the University Institution pledged to address their grievances, notably the regular payment of dues to lecturers and support staff, the guarantee of health insurance, the intensification of practical work, and the effective involvement of EGEM students in the sporting and cultural activities of The University of Ngaoundéré, to name but a few.

According to the Rector, these measures aim to bring the Meiganga campus closer to that of Dang. The resolutions thus adopted earned the Rector a round of applause. Before leaving Meiganga on 13 February 2024, Professor MAMOUDOU ABDOULMOUMINI announced that he would return the following week, accompanied by the Institution’s officials, to chair the coordination meeting of The University of Ngaoundéré’s activities.
