The University of Ngaoundéré and GIZ for Digitalisation in the Grand North of Cameroon

1 min read

On 11 June 2019, Madam Rector of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. Uphie Chinje Melo, travelled to Yaoundé to sign the partnership agreement between The University of Ngaoundéré and two GIZ programmes in Cameroon: the Rural Development Support Programme (PADER) and the Communal Development Support Programme (PRADEC).

Through this signature, the two GIZ programmes and the University undertake to work together to strengthen local actors in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The University will collaborate with the two programmes in two specific fields. For PADER, this will involve supporting the appropriate use of ICT in order to enhance the acquisition, exchange and processing of information relevant to agro-pastoral activities.
For PRADEC, the collaboration is intended to foster the strengthening of the capacities of the Multipurpose Community Telecentres (TCP) and local administrations for the provision of digital services. This joint signature highlights the existing and future synergies between The University of Ngaoundéré and the two GIZ programmes.
