THE UNIVERSITY RESTAURANT OPEN TO STUDENTS

The Rector of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. MAMOUDOU ABDOULMOUMINI had promised that the University restaurant would open shortly, and he was true to his word. To the great satisfaction of students, they had lunch at the University restaurant on 4 October 2023.

For an inaugural trial, the 500 available meals were served to the first arrivals: « Through my voice, the students say thank you to the Rector of The University of Ngaoundéré, who, just a few days into the start of the academic year, arranged for the opening of the University restaurant. This is a first in the entire history of The University of Ngaoundéré, the official and effective reopening of the University restaurant from the very first days of the start of the academic year. Given the enthusiasm, given the massive turnout of students today, 4 October 2024, this shows that students were eagerly awaiting the opening of the University restaurant », rejoiced the Director-General of the Student Union, YIMDJO Albertine Prisca.

According to the Director of the University Welfare Centre (DCOU), the instructions from senior management were followed: « For this first inaugural day, the Rector instructed that at least 500 meals be offered. This number will increase progressively as more students arrive and in line with demand. The university restaurant is part of the social welfare scheme », explained Professor IYA MOUSSA.

The Secretary General of The University of Ngaoundéré, Prof. VOUDWE BAKREO, who represented the Rector at the official opening ceremony of the University restaurant, announced that the best is yet to come: « This is only the beginning; in the coming days, the menu will be more substantial » he assured the students.
