This morning of 1 August 2024, the BELAKA Saoumboum Lecture Hall was the setting for a poignant academic tribute paid to the late Professor Michel Tchotsoua. 🙏 This eminent geographer and geomatician, a member of the Cameroon Academy of Sciences, left his mark on the academic and scientific world. 📚

Professor Tchotsoua, known for his unwavering commitment to science in the service of development, left an indelible legacy in the fields of geography, geomatics and urban planning. His major contributions, particularly through projects such as Open Cities Africa – Ngaoundéré, profoundly enriched the academic community and beyond. 🌍

Speakers paid tribute to his passion, dedication and immense contribution to the advancement of knowledge. We remember him not only as an exceptional scholar but also as a mentor and guide to so many students and colleagues. 🌟

Our thoughts are with his family, in particular Mrs Julienne Tchotsoua, as well as all those who supported him throughout his career. May this tribute reflect our deep gratitude and respect for this tireless servant of science.

Professor Tchotsoua, your light continues to shine in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace. 🌹
